Gum Health Affects Your Overall Health

Periodontal (Gum) disease is not only the leading cause of tooth loss, but also has been show to raise the risk factor for several potential health issues including stroke and heart disease. While gum disease typically begins with gingivitis, half of Americans aged 30 and above (64 million) have a more advanced form of gum disease known as periodontitis.

Laser Periodontal Dentistry

To minimize patient discomfort and maximize effectiveness, our specialists utilize the most advanced LANAP® laser technology available. The PerioLase® Nd:YAG laser delivers gentle pulses of light to effectively root out and kill the damaging bacteria hidden between teeth and gums. While traditional scalpel (blade) surgery can harm healthy gum tissue, LANAP® focuses precisely on the diseased tissue leaving healthy tissue unharmed. The result is a more relaxing patient experience with faster healing.

Gum Tissue Grafts

Gum tissue grafts turn a receding gumline into a healthy gumline. As your gums recede, the root surfaces of your teeth become unprotected and exposed to damage. By taking soft tissue from areas in the mouth and attaching it to the receding gums, our specialized periodontal team helps patients support existing teeth for a healthier smile. We also provide cosmetic tissue grafts to create a more naturally contoured gumline for teeth that appear misshaped or excessively long.
